18th century doll.

  Doll. Italy. Circa 1730. POA In superb condition, this museum quality doll Standing at 24 inches tall, has a clay head, arms and legs, with a string body, and is wearing her original 18th century dress, finished with finely made lace and decorated with flowers. Provenance. This very rare doll was owned by Countess Maria Theresia Kollonitz von Kollegrad, who was born on the 15th of September 1733, Died 1802. Graz in Austria. Countess Maria was a descendant of Charlmagne who was King of the Franks from 768 until his death in 814. Up until recently the doll belonged to a descendant of Countess Maria, who remembers playing with the doll when she was a child, it was purchased from her private collection from her castle in Graz, Austria.
